Stage 11

The day before the fireworks for many. Tomorrow marks the start of the mountains and with it the true tests of the race will begin. However today's shorter 168km stage took the riders through torrential rain that almost allowed the break to stay away.

In the end however a slightly less organised than usual HTC lead out train took Mark Cavendish to yet another Tour victory. He is now sitting at 18 tour stage wins, in 8th place of all time, only 4 behind that of Lance Armstrong and 16 behind the all time record of 34 set by Eddy Merckx.

Most fantasy teams have lost riders this week, with all but 3 (Team Money, Peak Contenders and Mucho Mucho Caliente) down at least 1 rider. Some have lost 3 and 4.

Going into the mountains I would expect serious mix ups in the leaderboard. Many teams who currently have high points have been propped up this week by their sprinters, having lost their GC riders to accidents. Hopefully the mountains will prove an exciting test for both the riders and the fantasy teams.

It all starts tomorrow!
